Wetting agent for film and photo paper
Wetting agent reduces drying time and aids uniform drying by reducing the water surface tension, thus reduce water marks and stripes on the film. Generally dilute the wetting agent concentrate before use with distilled water, 5 ml of the concentrate per one litre of water (Dilution: 1 + 200). Note: The film should be washed well before the rinse aid is applied. List of current wetting agents:
- Adox Aldoflo. Dilution: 1+200 for film or paper.
- Adox Adostab. Dilution: 1+19 for film or paper. Wetting agent with image stabilizer.
- Comprad WAC. Dilution: 1 + 200 for films and paper.
- Fotospeed RA50 Rinse Aid. Dilution: 1+200 for film.
- Foma Fotonal. Universal wetting agent for film and photo paper. Based on the characteristics of the water used for washing: in the case of particularly calcareous water, dilute 1+25, if in the presence of very soft water or demineralised water, dilute 1+300.
- Ilford Ilfotol. Dilution: 1+200 for film or paper.
- Ilford Simplicity. Each sachet contains the correct amount of photo chemicals to develop 2 rolls of 35mm (135) film or 1 roll of 120 film when using a 2-reel, 600ml developing tank. At the end of the wash sequence add 2 cap-fulls of the wetting agent to the tank with 600ml of water and give five inversions before removing the films.
