24 Hour Project – Photographers for Social Change
The largest photography event of its kind, photographers for social change. This year participating in a photowalk worldwide in one single day to support charity Cameras For Girls, a charitable organization committed to fostering empowerment and creativity through photography.
The 24HourProject gathers emerging photographers, aspiring photojournalists and visual storytellers from every city around the world to share photos as they document humanity in real time during twenty-four hours.
All photographers are accepted – any level, any age, any camera, anywhere in the world.
The worldwide photo walk event will be on 9th September, 2023. Through the 24HourProject we bring awareness to social issues and we raise funds for our partnered non-profit organizations. In this eleventh edition, we reaffirm our commitment to gender equality and have chosen Cameras for Girls as our charity partner. All funds raised will be allocated towards their education programs to overcome gender inequality one camera at a time.
According to the United Nations, around 2.4 billion women of working age are not afforded equal economic opportunity. Nearly 2.4 billion women globally don’t have the same economic rights as men.
Through their mission, values, and global exhibitions, the 24HourProject reaches millions of people annually showing human relationships through images and stories captured in real-time as you create a real impact for social change.
Creating Equity Through Photography
For almost a decade, the 24HourProject has been an unparalleled force in the world of photography, weaving a remarkable tapestry of human stories through its global photo walk for a cause.
This annual event transcends geographical boundaries, uniting photographers from all corners of the globe under a common purpose: to document humanity in a mere 24 hours!
As photographers from diverse backgrounds and cultures converge to embark on this annual mission, they become a testament to the beauty of our shared humanity. The 24HourProject reiterates that every narrative, no matter how distant or unfamiliar, is interwoven with the threads of emotion and experience that define us all.
It’s a vivid reminder that even in the vast expanse of our world, our stories connect us, forging bonds that transcend borders and languages.
As each photographer embarks on the journey to document the world within a span of 24 hours, they collectively illuminate the profound tapestry of humanity, leaving behind a legacy of visual stories that inspire change, understanding, and connection.
